Mid Canterbury Growers Ltd (MCG) are a high quality potato seed growing company, established in October 2011. Owners Tim and Ellie Pike saw an opportunity to get into the potato seed growing business.

Tim Pike is originally from Somerset, England, and has always had a passion for agriculture. He graduated from Harper Adams Agriculture College with a degree in Agricultural Engineering in 2004.

Initially Tim and Ellie bought into a spray contracting business, which specialised in spraying for seed and processing potatoes. It was here that Tim built some excellent contacts and the enthusiasm. It was during his 4 years with Ashburton Spraying that Tim and Ellie decided they wanted to get into potato growing for themselves.

Mid Canterbury Growers Ltd is situated within Mid Canterbury, Ashburton. This area is renowned for its excellent soils and growing potential within the area. All land is rented on a seasonal basis and is within a 25Km radius of the home yard.
